Such were the wise words of P. J. O’Rourke the last time drivers tried to blame their car accidents on “sudden unintended acceleration.” And now it has happened again.
Fortunately, Walter Olson of the Cato Institute is not going to stop asking questions about the legal persecution of Toyota—nor about the government’s delay in vindicating the company.
Of course, none of this means that the sharks will back off. They never do when there is blood money in the water.
