Objectivist Epistemology
Epistemology is the theory of knowledge. Specifically, how we come to know the things we do. It is and essential aspect of understanding Objectivism as it forms the foundation from which everything else stems. This landing page serves as the perfect place to start your journey, featuring a collection of videos, readings, and lectures from David Kelley and other Objectivist thinkers. Broken down into three levels of difficulty, we explore how the basis of all knowledge comes through perception: our sense of sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. It is from this evidence of the senses that we can form concepts and apply inductive and deductive reasoning (logic), towards a better understanding of ourselves and our tangible, observable, and definite reality. We then show how this epistemology can be applied to higher-level concepts such as the conceptual preconditions for freedom and what it means to ultimately live a rational and objective life.
